Additionally, we maintain open communication with parents, discussing any issues their children encounter in Chinese studies. Xin Laoshi is an art teacher who also teaches Chinese. She is a patient and skilled tutor who transformed my son's attitude toward Chinese. He used to hate the subject, and previous tutors couldn't help. After meeting Xin Laoshi, who combines art and storytelling in her teaching, my son began to enjoy learning. Her methods made reading comprehension easier and less intimidating. Thanks to her guidance, my son improved from failing to achieving AL2 in his Primary Six exams. My two children have been with Wang Laoshi for more than 9 years, since they were in preschool. We have stayed with Wang Laoshi because she is a patient and caring teacher with effective teaching methods. She varies her approach according to the child's personality and learning style. In the words of my teenager son - "there is no stress learning Chinese from 王老师". Through the years, I have also received positive feedback from my children's Chinese teachers at school, along the lines that my children have a strong foundation in Chinese. My daughter scored a distinction in higher Mother Tongue at PSLE and continues to take Chinese as a first language in a top secondary school. Her strong composition writing skills at this level never fail to amaze me. As an English-speaking family, we are grateful to have 王老师 on this journey.

Wang Laoshi is a very dedicated teacher who is very passionate about Chinese language. She is able to inspire my son, who used to hate Chinese language, to enjoy Chinese lessons with her. He finds her lesson interesting and looks forward to his weekly session with her. His Chinese has improved tremendously since starting lessons with Wang laoshi. He was even able to score AL1 in his P4 final year exams! Thanks to Wang laoshi!

My kids' mandarin have improved under Wang Laoshi's tutelage. She is kind, patient and exacting in her teaching; using methods to build up the children's interest in their mother tongue. The children look forward to her lessons every week and are more confident in speaking Mandarin and completing their school assignments. I only wished I had started both kids with Wang Laoshi when they were younger! Thanks for being an absolute gem of a Chinese tutor.

"My son has been going to Mdm. Wang for tuition since he was in lower Primary. We do not speak much Chinese at home and he was struggling with Higher Chinese. Mdm. Wang was able to engage him and earn his trust since the very first lesson and he has continued classes with her since, surprising us sometimes by scoring better in Higher Chinese than in English. He's now in Primary 6, and we have utmost confidence that Mdm. Wang will prepare him well for the National exams.

My boy started learning with Laoshi nearing the end of 2021. She is patient and customizes. Her teaching lessons based on his learning needs. She provides feedback to me regularly and advises me how to help my child. My boy is now less resistant to the language. From being almost unable to speak in Chinese, he can now speak more Chinese, understand and read sentences better.

Lao Shi's approach is to understand the child's temperaments and interest first to customize a teaching plan suitable for the child. Even if the child has a particularly weak foundation in Chinese, she is able to devise programs and workshops to guide the child through with a combination of one to one tuition class and group workshops where appropriate. That approach worked well for my 2 sons and they both achieved A grade for PSLE Chinese.
